Best And Easiest Way To Add Categories To The Header Of Blogger

Hello my fellow bloggers, I will be telling you the best and simple trick you can use in adding categories to the header of your Blogger website.

What is a category in website?
A category is a subheading in a website where you can show posts that are related to specific topics so that users can find what they are looking for easily.

If you are using your private domain you can easily add categories by updating the script of the website but bloggers find it difficult to add subheadings to the top of the website. Your subheading can be in the following
1. Computers
2. News
3. Technology
4. Entertainment
5. Etc

How can I add categories to blogger
First, there is nothing like categories in Blogger rather, Blogger has 'Labels'
Categories are the same as Labels in Blogger.
To add categories in blogger;
1. Go to the blog you wish to add categories to and login.
2. Click on posts and select the post you wish to add to a particular label.
3. Click on the arrow sign on top and name the new label. See picture below for illustration.

4. Go back to the blog layout and select add widgets.
5. Select labels then the labels you created would appear on the site with the posts you added to the label. That is it. You have created your categories or labels on Blogger.

How to make Labels appear on the Header of blogger.
This is where most bloggers find it difficult but in actuality, it's very simple and easy. To make your labels appear at the header of Blogger follow this steps.

1. Visit your blogger address and click on menu to see the labels you created. If you followed the steps above you would see your labels.

2. Click on a label and copy the web address of the label as it opens.

3. Go back to blogger layout and select page list(Top).

4. Click on pages and select the pages you wish to appear on the top of your Blogger website.

5. To make your labels appear on the top, select 'add external link' and paste the label link you copied before into it, select title of the link. The title should be the name of the label. Click save.

Note: You can only create labels after publishing articles.

2. Repeat the steps to add more labels at the header of Blogger.

3. You can choose the appearance of the labels. e.g list, gird , vertical or horizontal.

4. Make sure to add home page link on the header so that your users can navigate easily in your website.

5. Posts will not be added automatically to a particular label. You have to add it manually after publishing your articles like I instructed earlier.
